Meadow Road Gallery: Olivia O’Brien

Hello! My name is Olivia O’Brien, I am 20 years old currently working as a Care Worker. This piece of work is a reflection of the reoccurring dreams I have from the perspective of my younger self. The reference being a photo captured of pure joy on my face. I have filled it with bright colours that serve as the playful and care free mindset I once had and now trying to reconnect with. As there is something so refreshing having everything feel new and exciting. Finding the joy in the simpler things, outweighing any worries. The swirl on the face preforms as the distortion to the features, constantly shifting and fading as we try to grasp onto that memory. But also signifying hypnosis, being a method of falling asleep.
