Moonscapes: Midwinter Flight – Christmas Painting Workshop 🌙🎄

It’s Christmas Eve. The snow has settled over the mountains, the lights are glowing in the little cottage below and, high above, something magical is happening…

Santa is on his way.

Join me at MOONHAVEN to paint Midwinter Flight, a wonderfully atmospheric Christmas Moonscape capturing Santa and his reindeer as they fly across a huge glowing moon on Christmas Eve.

We’ll create the painting together step by step, starting with that deep, star-filled winter sky before adding the snowy mountains, distant trees and cosy cottage with its warm golden window. Then we’ll paint the beautiful full moon and, finally, add Santa and his reindeer silhouetted against the moonlight.

It looks wonderfully detailed, but you don’t need any previous painting experience to come along. I’ll show you how to build the picture a stage at a time, and with only four people in each session, there’ll be plenty of individual help whenever you need it.

We’ll all be painting Midwinter Flight, but yours doesn’t have to be an exact copy. You can make little changes as you go and give your Christmas Eve scene its own character.

Everything you need is supplied, so you can simply turn up, settle in and enjoy painting for a few hours in the cosy surroundings of MOONHAVEN.

And at the end, you’ll take home your own finished Midwinter Flight Moonscape — a Christmas painting you can bring out and enjoy year after year.
